The View East 6x6 Oil on Board SOLD
My friend, Dona M., has loaned me a book by Lois Griffel. She writes about colorist vs. tonalist approaches to creating form, distance, etc. First attempt here. I used palette knife and paper towels.
Ha-ha, Nina, that's pure paint. Although now that you mention it, I could try some wax medium that I haven't even opened yet. Hi Sandra, great to hear from you.
Good eye, Melanie. No, I didn't have a thought of Van Gogh, but yes, I can see what you mean in color, direction of strokes, thickness of application, etc. Thanks for the comment..

Ms. Frugality, did you use gel? Or did you really make impasto that thick?
sounds like an interesting book. The painting here is very colorful and attacts the eye! Great job.

Hi Sandra, great to hear from you.
Dang, this looks like a Van Gogh to me. Did you do that on purpose? Seriously.
